This No-Handsew Sleeve method works for wall hangings that have borders. It will not work for wall hangings on-point or wall hangings that do not have borders.

Follow the steps below after all blocks have been joined together and Backing has been

added to the wall hanging. Add binding to wall hanging after sleeve is attached.

Step 1—Determine dimensions to cut fabric for sleeve

A) Sleeve Length = width of completed wall hanging

B) Sleeve Width = measure border block height, including seam allowance. Double

measurement, then add 3/8”.

Step 2—Double fold along both short ends of sleeve and topstitch.

Step 3—Lay wall hanging front side down. Place sleeve right side down over the top. Align

raw edge of sleeve with raw edge of wall hanging and pin in place.

Step 4—Place Mono.Poly thread in the needle and bobbin.

Step 5—With top side of wall hanging facing up and sleeve open underneath, stitch-in-

the-ditch of seam at bottom of border block.

Step 6—Fold sleeve up, wrong sides together, align raw edge with edge of quilt. Basted in

the seam allowance to secure. Trim sleeve fabric even with edge of wall hanging, if

necessary.

Step 7—Add binding to finish wall hanging.
